Whether a vibratory bowl, a rotary orienting system or an elevator feeder is used for the application, the loading and discharge of the parts must be considered.
Hoppers serve two purposes. They regulate the flow of parts to the feeder; maintaining a consistent level of parts contributes to a reliable feed rate. A regulated level of parts also reduces the risks of parts jamming under the tracks and in the return pan when a bowl is used. Less labour is spent loading the feeder when a hopper is used. They are available in several styles and sizes, up to five cubic feet for a table mount unit, to suit most applications.
Tracks with level control are used to provide a buffer of oriented parts and to transport parts to the next stage of the process. Linear horizontal, gravity and conveyor styles are all appropriate in specific applications.
A specific Autofeed system will be supplied with the feeder, track, track level control, hopper and baseplate components fully integrated and tested to meet your quoted specifications.
Vibratory bowl tooling :
Vibratory bowls are available in three basic styles; straight wall (most common), cascade and conical or wok style. Outside tooled straight wall bowls allow for a more complex tooling where required for intricate parts, higher feed rates and multiple discharges.
Cascade and wok style bowls are useful and economical to use when a low to moderate feed rate with simple tooling is suitable.
Autofeed bowls are fabricated with 304 stainless steel (316 for medical applications is available); hardened steel tooling plates are used when appropriate.
Bowl linings are recommended for very noisy and oily parts. Special treatments are applicable for parts with sensitive surface finishes. Sound enclosures (lined and unlined) can be supplied to further reduce noise levels.
